Groundsperson

Assists in the tasks associated with the plant operations, including plant maintenance, equipment operation, quality control, customer service, general operations administration, and physical labor.
Main Responsibilities
- Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
- Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
- Assist with coordinating daily operations while ensuring safety, environmental, regulatory and production targets are met; this includes compliance with company policies, and applicable federal/state/local regulations; and maintaining effective relationships with other employees, internal/external customers/suppliers, and local/state/federal representatives
- Safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools required to perform assigned tasks
- Assist with minor maintenance and repair of plant vehicles and equipment
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized working areas
- Work closely with plant operators, equipment operators, and others in completion of assigned tasks
- Engage in multiple forms of physical labor necessary for completion of plant production operations
- Answer phones and provides information to internal and external customers
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Skills
- At least one year of experience working in an aggregate or asphalt production operation or similar industry preferred
Physical Requirements
- Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
- Regularly required to use hands to feel, handle and manipulate objects, write, use a keyboard and/or mobile device
- Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear), and perform tasks requiring visual acuity
- Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Frequent exposure to loud noise, and work around heavy machinery and mobile construction equipment
- Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
- Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
- Some travel with overnight stays away from home may be required
