Supports milling operations associated with commercial and heavy civil paving projects
Main Responsibilities
- Embrace the Company’s safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the Safety Steering and Continuous Improvement teams
- Support, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
- Safely operate vehicles, tools and equipment, including, but not limited to on-road vehicles, skid steers, loaders, hand and power tools
- Move tools and materials
- Assist with milling and related operations
- Assist with minor equipment maintenance and cleaning.
- Unplugs and shovels off conveyors and screens
- Changes out screens, rollers, cone liners etc.
- Repairs conveyor problems
- Greases moving machine parts
- Performs crusher machinery set up and take down including running cables and hoses
- Assembles/disassembles machinery, operating skid steers to move parts, tarping, shoveling aggregate
- Maintain clean and organized working areas
- Work closely with skilled laborers and craft workers to complete projects
- Engage in multiple forms of physical labor necessary for completion of assigned construction projects
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid drivers’ license and ability to maintain a clean motor vehicle record required; commercial license a plus
Skills
- Previous experience in milling, and/or related field preferred
- Experience working in a heavy civil construction environment or similar industry preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to take initiative to assist in all areas of a project
- Ability to follow direction, identify hazards, and work safely
Physical Requirements
- Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
- Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
- Regularly required to stand; walk across uneven terrain; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Regularly required to use hands to feel, handle and manipulate objects, write, use a keyboard and/or mobile device
- Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear), and perform tasks requiring visual acuity
- Frequent exposure to loud noise
- Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
- Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
- Required to work varying hours, including nights/weekends, and overnight travel may be required

Compensation*
$23-$28/Hr DOE
*Estimated target starting compensation; actual compensation to be determined based on assessment of an individual’s qualifications, education, and experience relevant to the role.
